About Tim Armstrong: Mr. Timothy M. Armstrong has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Historic AOL LLC, since April 7, 2009. Mr. Armstrong has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Historic AOL LLC (AOL LLC) since March 2009. He served as an Interim Chief Executive Officer of the AOL Networks segment at AOL Inc. since March 2013 until August 1, 2013. At AOL, he is responsible for setting strategy and overseeing the businesses and day-to-day operations of the company.
In December 2009, Mr. Armstrong took the AOL public with a listing on the New York Stock Exchange. He is a Co-Founder of The United Football League. He serves as Founding Investor at FitOrbit, Inc. Mr. Armstrong joined AOL in March 2009 from Google Inc., where he served as the Senior Vice President and President of The Americas Operations, overseeing its North American and Latin American advertising sales, marketing, and operations teams. He served as President of Advertising and Commerce North America, Vice President and vice president of ad sales at Google Inc. Mr. Armstrong worked with some of the world's most widely recognized brands and advertising agencies. His tenure at Google covered the scaled launch of its advertising efforts as well as defining many of the operating structures that supported the growth of its global expansion. He was a Member of Google's Operating Committee. He also served as a Venture Advisor at TVP I, L.P. (Tribeca Venture Partners). He was an Advisor at Greycroft Partners LLC. He served as the Vice President of Sales and Strategic Partnerships at Snowball.com. He served as the Director of Integrated Sales and Marketing at Starwave's and Disney's ABC/ESPN Internet Ventures, working across the companies' Internet, TV, radio and print properties.
Mr. Armstrong started his career by co-founding and running a newspaper based in Boston, Massachusetts before joining IDG to launch its first consumer Internet magazine, I-Way. He served as the Chairman of The Advertising Council, Inc., since August 2010 and its Director since May 2009. He has been a Director of priceline.com Incorporated since January 7, 2013. Mr. Armstrong serves as a Director of KnowledgeStorm Inc. He serves on the Boards of Center for Communication, Inc., the Advertising Research Foundation, and is a Trustee at Connecticut College and Lawrence Academy. He served as a Director of Interactive Advertising Bureau Inc., since January 2006. He served as Director at Associated Content, Inc. Mr. Armstrong is a graduate of Connecticut College, with a double major in Economics and Sociology.
