Dr. Ida Jones-Gibson is a highly sought-after Diversity and Inclusion executive for Fortune 100 companies. She is a master in Public Administration and Grant Writing and Management. Her current position is with META as a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Business Partner. Her past positions include working at Tesla as a Sr. Diversity & Inclusion Business Partner playing a critical role in the organization to design and deliver innovative programs to drive meaningful results that ultimately impacted global leaders, employees, and customers.
Aside from working with Fortune 100 companies, she worked with Daemen College as Chief Diversity Officer to oversee the Center for Diversity and Inclusion and carry out the mission to recruit and retain a diverse student population. She is goal-driven, and her management and implementation of campus-wide learning initiatives are dedicated to educating the campus population on microaggressions, cultural competencies, and inclusive instruction. Her focus was on maintaining ongoing efforts to evaluate the campus experience of traditionally underrepresented students and implement evidence-based strategies to address campus climate issues. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and very active in her community. She works part-time as an Adjunct Professor at Hilbert College where she teaches Public Administration courses according to the Graduate Course catalog for the Master of Public Administration program descriptions and in accordance with defined course standards and outcomes. Her research interests and areas of teaching are in talent management, diversity initiatives, cultural competency, equity and access in public policy, and minority women in politics. Previously an Adjunct Professor for the University at Buffalo teaching courses to adult learners at the Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center according to the University of Buffalo’s catalog descriptions and in accordance with defined course standards and outcomes. Prior to working in the Diversity and Inclusion space she held positions as a City Council Liaison & Policy Analyst in Richmond, Virginia, and served as Director of Grants Management for Honorable Mayor Muriel Bowser, in Washington D.C.
She was nominated and a finalist for the WomenTech Global Awards for Diversity and Inclusion Officer / Role Model in 2021. Dr. Gibson has a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Jackson State University, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Savannah State University, and a Bachelor’s from The University of Georgia in Mass Communications. Married, no children, and the First Lady at Calvary Baptist Church, in Buffalo, NY. Respected throughout the industry and in her community, she sits on the Board of Directors for Catholic Health Systems in Buffalo, NY.
