Description of piece:
Clint Eastwood rose to international fame in his titular role as the Man with No Name in Italian filmmaker Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy of spaghetti Westerns during the 1960s, and as the antihero cop Harry Callahan in the five Dirty Harry films throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
These roles cemented Eastwood as an enduring cultural icon. His successive acting and directorial successes include Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture (along with nominations for Best Actor) for his work in Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby; Every Which Way But Loose and its sequel Any Which Way You Can; Hang 'Em High; the psychological thriller Play Misty for Me; the crime film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot; The Outlaw Josey Wales; Escape from Alcatraz; Firefox; Tightrope; Pale Rider; Where Eagles Dare; Kelly's Heroes; Heartbreak Ridge; In the Line of Fire; The Bridges of Madison County; and Gran Torino.
In addition to directing many of his own star vehicles, Eastwood has also directed films in which he did not appear, such as the mystery drama Mystic River; Letters from Iwo Jima, for which he received Academy Award nominations; Changeling; and the South African biographical political sports drama Invictus. His war drama biopic American Sniper set box-office records for the largest January release ever and was also the largest opening ever for an Eastwood film.
Greg Bucher’s visually striking, large-format portrait depicts film legend Clint Eastwood, in a gallery-wrapped painting on canvas . The canvas measures 40” in height x 30” width x 5/8” depth. Greg Bucher’s original paintings creatively reimagine famous personages introducing artistic and graphic elements to create powerful presentation pieces.
