The Hampton Classic Horse Show is always a grand way to end the summer. As one of the largest outdoor horse shows in the United States, and a premier destination for horse people, The Classic is a much-anticipated stop on the summer tour. Now well into its third successful decade, The Hampton Classic Horse Show is in a class all its own, both in the minds of spectators and horse people alike. Held in high regard by the horse community, famous for its Hamptons celebrity sightings in the V.I.P. tents, and second to none in high-end shopping boutiques, it earns its nickname “The Classic”.

Southampton Hospital will host two guests for a brunch buffet on Opening Day. On the beautiful grass of the Grand Prix Ring, you will find probably the tensest competition all week – the infamous Hampton Classic Leadline. Dozens upon dozens of ponies parade their riders, judged by Olympic Silver medalist Joe Fargis, while their proud parents and grandparents watch nervously from the V.I.P. tents.
There are no show activities on Monday, August 24th.
From Tuesday, August 25th - Saturday, August 29th you and up to four people will be hosted as guests of The Hampton Classic. Watch the competition from prime, shaded seating at one of The Classic tables in the V.I.P. tent. Food and beverages are not included, but you may enjoy lunch or a snack from one of the on-site vendors.
To round out this classic week-long experience, Southampton Hospital will host two guests on Grand Prix Sunday, August 30th for a catered luncheon with Hospital Administration, Board of Directors, and notable supporters.
Year after year, Grand Prix Sunday is one of the highlights of the Hampton Classic. Not only does it feature the highest levels of equestrian competition, but it also draws masses of spectators and celebrities to the Bridgehampton show grounds. The first Grand Prix at the Hampton Classic was offered in 1977 and had a purse of $10,000. Over the years, the event has grown to an impressive purse of $250,000 and features some of the world’s best equestrians.
