Ted Harbert joined NBC Universal in January 2011 as Chairman, of NBC Broadcasting and reported directly to Steve Burke, CEO of NBC Universal. He is responsible for NBC Universal Digital Entertainment, NBC Owned Television Stations, Affiliate Relations, Network Research, Domestic Television Distribution, Special Events, and Advertising Sales. Previously, Harbert served as President & CEO, of Comcast Entertainment Group where he oversaw E! Entertainment Television, Style Network, G4, Comcast International Media Group, Comcast Entertainment Productions, as well as CEG’s Digital Properties, including E! Online and G4tv.com. During Harbert’s tenure, the company boasted six years of record-setting growth. Harbert served as President of NBC Studios with responsibility for the development and production of all NBC-owned programming including Will & Grace, Providence, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Harbert spent the first 20 years of his career with ABC, ultimately serving as Chairman of ABC Entertainment. At various times during his tenure at ABC, he was responsible for Primetime Scheduling, made-for-TV Movies and Miniseries, Primetime Current Programming, Specials, and Late Night Programming. Harbert was closely associated with such programs as Roseanne, Home Improvement, The Practice, Twin Peaks, ThirtySomething, NYPD Blue, My So-Called Life, Wonder Years, and America’s Funniest Home Videos to name just a few. Harbert has also served as a Producer at 20th Century Fox Television and DreamWorks SKG. Ted and his wife, Lisa, live at the Silo Ridge Field Club in Amenia, NY, and enjoy traveling to warmer, sunnier spots during the winter.
