Aimee Garcia is an award-winning actress who currently stars on Netflix’s hit Lucifer, Marvel’s MODOK and Dreamwork’s How To Train Your Dragon. She recently headlined Netflix’s untitled holiday comedy, where she stars as Angelina Cortez, a music superstar who has millions of fans worldwide and is in a career slump and at risk of getting dropped by her label unless she comes up with a Christmas hit in time for the holidays. Garcia also recently wrapped Hulu’s Woke opposite Lamorne Morris and the western Murder in Emigrant Gulch opposite Richard Dreyfuss and Gabriel Byrne.
She previously appeared on Showtime’s Dexter as Jamie Batista, for which she received a SAG Award nomination. Other TV credits include Trauma and The George Lopez Show, a role that earned her an Impact and Alma Award. In film, Aimee starred in RoboCop, opposite Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton, Lorenzo DiBonaventura’s superhero movie El Chicano and MGM’s The Addams Family alongside Charlize Theron and Oscar Issac.
On the writing front, Garcia co-wrote the sequel to 47 Ronin for Universal along with New York Times Bestseller AJ Mendez and a Wonder Woman: Black & Gold issue for DC Comics. The duo also wrote the Glow and Dungeons and Dragons comic series (which made Sci-Fi’s “Best Comics of 2020” list). Last year, Garcia and Mendez launched Scrappy Heart Productions. They are currently writing an action comedy for Lionsgate and developing Mendez’s New York Times bestselling memoir Crazy Is My Superpower. The writing due have a combined 8 million social media followers.
When she’s not shooting, Aimee works with MOSTE, a non-profit organization which mentors girls from underserved communities & the National Hispanic Foundation of the Arts, which fosters emerging Latino talent in TV and Film and the George Lopez Foundation, which helps kids and families with organ donations.
Aimee graduated from Northwestern University with degrees in Economics, Journalism and French. Her Instagram has 2.7 million followers and her Facebook and Twitter have more than 500k combined.
