About Jonathan Jossel
Born in South Africa and raised in London, England, Jonathan Jossel moved to Las Vegas in 2007 to oversee Tamares Real Estate's Las Vegas properties, including the Plaza Hotel & Casino. He helped manage the Plaza’s first major renovation project in 2010/2011 that remodeled all 1,000-plus hotel rooms, the 80,000 sq. ft. casino floor and various public spaces, including new dining options led by the award-winning Oscar’s steakhouse inside the property’s iconic glass dome.
Jonathan took over as the CEO of the Plaza in 2014, becoming one of the youngest non-restricted gaming licensees in Las Vegas. As CEO, Jonathan committed himself to rebuilding the Plaza’s brand that combines contemporary styling, modern gaming, improved guest amenities, and personal customer service for the ultimate, classic Vegas experience.
He has enacted significant changes at the Plaza to reinvigorate the property’s atmosphere and energy with the goal of improving the overall guest experience, including revamping the casino floor, reimagining the rooftop pool, creating 100 new Luxe Guest Rooms and Suites, renovating the convention space, and bringing rodeo back to downtown at the Plaza’s Core Arena. As a result of his leadership, the Plaza continues to experience tremendous growth and great success. Jonathan has successfully injected a renewed spirit and energy into a historic property that continues to evolve and improve while maintaining its place as an iconic destination in downtown Las Vegas.
Working and living in downtown Las Vegas with his wife and three young children, Jonathan has taken an active role in supporting the community’s ongoing development and revitalization as a member of the Fremont East Entertainment District board of directors, the Downtown Vegas Alliance and the Nevada Resort Association.
About Trent Alenik
Trent Alenik was the second student to take part in the Inspiring Children Foundation. At just 14 years of age, he joined the organization to transform his life. Trent earned a scholarship to play college tennis at Villanova University where he went on to study finance at their top ranked undergraduate business school, and worked on Wall Street during college at Merrill Lynch and Barclays Capital.
Upon graduating in 2011, Trent turned down offers to work in Finance and came back to Las Vegas where he took a job working with the Inspiring Children Foundation. Over 12 years he progressed from a volunteer to manager to Executive Director and now serving as CEO where he oversees all day to day operations, fundraising, programming and events. During his tenure he has 10x’d the organization’s budget 100x’d the Foundation’s impact through ICF’s online mental health platforms and in-person wellness festivals.
Trent serves on the board of USTA Nevada, is Vice President of the USTA Intermountain, and chairs a USTA National committee. Trent was recently honored with Vegas’ 40 under 40 for the class of 2023. Trent received the esteemed NO QUIT & Rudy Awards in high school, along with the Innovative Creative Excellence Award from the Villanova School of Business.
