Bid to win Ta Leopard - Banksy Graffiti Art!
Artist: Banksy.
Title: Ta Leopard - Banksy Graffiti Art.
Year created: 2013.
Medium: Mohawk #115 Fine Art Paper with 5 to 9 colors of Pantone ink.
Edition: Numbered Limited Edition of 61/300.
Description of piece:
Location: Yankee Stadium (162 and Jerome Street), USA. Dimension: 36” x 24” This unique piece features a leaping leopard whose body is made up of graffiti-style markings, blending seamlessly with a decayed urban wall. A yellow stripe on the wall serves as a makeshift "cage bar," creating the illusion that the leopard is escaping. A passerby in dark clothing and a white hat observes the scene. The painted leopard appears trapped behind the yellow line, mimicking a zoo cage, but also breaking free, highlighting themes of oppression and liberation. The cracked wall suggests neglect, possibly representing social decline or forgotten spaces where street art thrives. The leopard, a symbol of power and grace, is made of graffiti, reinforcing Banksy’s message that street art is a force that challenges authority and reclaims public space. Banksy plays with illusion to critique confinement, urban decay, and the way art disrupts boundaries. The leopard’s escape symbolizes defiance, both physical barriers and societal constraints. Banksy’s Graffiti Art is the most comprehensive official photographic record of the artist’s work. Photographers documented Banksy’s pieces within hours of completion, using large-format cameras to capture their strategic placement and interaction with surroundings. Over the years, these curated images formed the exclusive Forever Collection of high-quality prints. Each photographer was compensated for their work, retaining full copyright ownership. This print is produced on Mohawk #115 Fine Art Paper with 5 to 9 Pantone ink colors, embossed with the Banksy’s Graffiti Art official logo, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
Artist bio:
Banksy is an anonymous graffiti artist who may have been born in Bristol, England. He came to notice as a freehand graffiti artist whose art is on publicly visible surfaces such as walls and self-built physical prop pieces. He is known for his anti-authoritarian art, often done in public places. Banksy merged graffiti art with installation and performance art. The “street” is where Banksy made the world take notice. Each work was done on the fly, creeping around in the dark, getting paint on his hands and mud on his denims, carefully avoiding the police and the public.
