Artist bio:
John Stoddart is known as “Photographer to the Stars” and is recognized as one of the world’s most renowned photographers. Born in the United Kingdom, his work includes photographing glamorous celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Sir Anthony Hopkins, to big-name bands such as “The Rolling Stones”. By the early 1980s, Stoddart had photographed every major record label band, establishing himself as one of the world’s great celebrities and also a boudoir photographer. A notoriously fast photographer, he has a preference for working with film as opposed to digital. His passion for photography carries over to the complete printing process and also includes his collection of a beautiful, era gone by cameras. Stoddart is not just a photographer; he is an artist. His work captures not just a picture but a story that can be told to the viewer through the eyes of his subjects. He has worked for major publications and brands that included Vogue, Harper’s, EMI, and Virgin, and is often credited for the return of glamour to popular culture. John Stoddart has exhibited worldwide, including at galleries in London and Paris. The Sofitel Hotel, Beverly Hills 2017 held an “A” list invitation-only exhibition and has continued to use his celebrity images as framed art throughout the hotel.
