Michael McGrath, a native of Houston TX, studied film & television at the University of Texas at Austin. After moving to Los Angeles, he got his start at Weed Road Pictures and Sobini Films before landing at ICM. From there, he moved to Warner Bros. Pictures to assist Sarah Schechter, then SVP Production. He then joined Sarah when she left to partner with Greg Berlanti at Berlanti Productions, working his way up from Coordinator to Executive Vice President, Film.
Initially working in both TV and features for the company, Michael worked on the pilots for Legends of Tomorrow (The CW), God Friended Me (CBS), and Batwoman (The CW), the latter of which he acted as Producer. After segueing exclusively into the company’s newly titled Berlanti/Schechter Films division, Michael served as Executive Producer on Unpregant (HBO Max) directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, Free Guy (20th Century Studios) starring Ryan Reynolds, Moonshot (HBO Max) starring Cole Sprouse & Lana Condor, as well as My Policeman (Amazon) starring Harry Styles & Emma Corin.
He's been an integral part in the company's growing feature business, including overseeing for Berlanti & Schechter their slate of features at Netflix, where the company has a new feature deal, as well as bringing in and shepherding projects at Warner Bros., New Line, HBO Max, 20th Century Studios, Amazon, Focus, FilmNation, Skydance, Village Roadshow, Sony 3000 and more. Up next is the adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s best-selling novel Red, White & Royal Blue for Amazon, and the Jennifer Lopez starring vehicle Atlas for Netflix.
