Patricia Velasquez is an unhesitant and unwavering Humanitarian, Actress, Producer, Author and is credited as being the World's First Latina Supermodel. She has walked on hundreds of high fashion runways and graced the covers of major magazines such as Vogue and Bazaar. When she moved to the states she attended acting classes and has appeared in numerous television shows such as Arrested Development and Ugly Betty. With her natural versatility she has transitioned to the big screen with ease earning leading roles in The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Liz in September and most recently The Curse of La Llorona.
Patricia is the driving force behind the nonprofit humanitarian organization, The Wayúu Taya Foundation, focused on providing Educational, Vocational and Nutritional programs to the Indigenous communities of the Wayúu in her native Venezuela. The foundation has been providing constant relief since it began in 2002 during which Patricia has earned the title of UNESCO Artist for Peace and numerous other honors for her humanitarian efforts. She was recently awarded for her leadership and groundbreaking development of several newly implemented projects focused on sustainability and eradication of poverty. She has quickly become a leader and a standout example for other nonprofits all over the world to follow.
