The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Khalid to the Museum’s intimate 200-seat Clive Davis Theater for an evening celebrating his latest release, Sincere, in discussion about his career and creative process, with a performance to follow.
Multi-platinum selling global superstar Khalid, who was named one of TIME’s Most Influential People of 2019, has taken the world by storm since his first single, the RIAA-certified diamond “Location” (released right before his high school graduation) exploded onto the scene leading to a major label deal with Right Hand Music Group/RCA Records followed by the release of his debut album, the certified 4x platinum, American Teen. His sophomore album Free Spirit, released to critical acclaim in 2019, was declared a New York Times “Critic’s Pick” and was called “superb” by the Associated Press. The album, which has been certified 2x platinum, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and features the GRAMMY-nominated multi-format #1 single “Talk”. Khalid, who has been called a “pop prodigy” by Rolling Stone has been streamed globally over 32 billion times across all partners, has been nominated for seven GRAMMYS, and has won numerous awards including six Billboard Music Awards, four American Music Awards, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award, among others. He was recently honored at the 71st Annual BMI Pop Awards with the Champion Award. He’s collaborated with some of music’s biggest stars including his #1 singles “Love Lies” (with Normani) and “Eastside” (with Halsey and Benny Blanco) as well as Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, and more. During the summer of 2021, Khalid debuted his track “New Normal” at Virgin Galactic’s “Unity 22” Spaceflight launch where it played in the shuttle during its descent back to earth. To close out the year, he released his Scenic Drive tape which he describes as a companion piece to his 2018 EP Sun City. Khalid and Marshmello teamed up again on their 2022 summer hit “Numb,” making this the artist’s second collaboration following their 6x platinum smash hit “SILENCE” in 2017. Last year, Khalid was featured on the official soundtrack for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie and joined Ed Sheeran in select cities across North America on his “+ – = ÷ x Tour.” Khalid’s highly anticipated third album Sincere is out now.
