Get to know Hollywood actress, Nancy Travis, and adoptable pups at the Wags & Walks Adoption Center in Los Angeles!
Nancy Travis recently wrapped the Lionsgate feature film, Ordinary Angels, starring Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson, and produced by Dave Matthews. On the television side, she is currently in production as the matriarch, “Isabel,” in the upcoming Hallmark series, Ride, which explores the rodeo world and follows the lives of the McMurray clan as they struggle to keep their beloved ranch afloat. Travis wrapped a nine-season run starring opposite Tim Allen in the FOX hit comedy, Last Man Standing, as Allen’s wife, "Vanessa,” who puts up with her opinionated, curmudgeon of a husband and their three opinionated girls. The long-running series, which originated on ABC, had a large and loyal audience that connected with the show’s humorous and bold, yet relatable take on American families.
Travis also starred opposite Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin in the Netflix/Chuck Lorre comedy series, The Kominsky Method, which won a 2019 Golden Globes Awards for “Best Actor in a Comedy Series” (Michael Douglas) and “Best Comedy Series,” and was also nominated for a 2020 SAG Awards including “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.” She starred as “Lisa,” a fifty-something recent divorcee who joins an acting class taught by the famed acting coach, “Sandy Kominsky” (Douglas), and not only discovers her hidden talent but starts a connection that takes them both by surprise. Travis also heavily recurred in season two of the DirecTV/AT&T series, Mr. Mercedes, as “Donna Hodges,” the ex-wife of Brendan Gleeson’s “Bill Hodges.” On the feature side, Travis starred in the independent film, Bernard & Huey, opposite Jim Rash, and David Koechner, written by Jules Feiffer, and directed by Dan Mirvish. Other recent films include The Submarine Kid, opposite Finn Wittrock, Emilie de Ravin, and Jack Coleman; and Married Young starring Gary Cole, Lucas Neff, David Fynn, and Vanessa Lengies.
Travis was born in New York and grew up in both Baltimore and Boston. She returned to New York to study drama at New York University. Soon after, she joined the national touring company of Neil Simon's hit play, Brighton Beach Memoirs. Her additional theatre credits include Broadway's, I'm Not Rappaport, and Athol Fugard's, My Children, My Africa, which the author directed at the La Jolla Playhouse. She is a founding member of the off-Broadway theatre company, Naked Angels. Travis starred on TBS’ hit comedy The Bill Engvall Show for three seasons and in Hallmark Channel’s television movie, Safe Harbor, along with Lifetime’s original television movie, Pregnancy Pact. Travis made her feature film debut in the blockbuster comedy Three Men and A Baby. Her additional film credits include The Jane Austen Book Club, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Internal Affairs, Air America, Three Men, and a Little Lady, So I Married an Axe Murderer, The Vanishing Greedy, Fluke, Destiny Turns on the Radio and Bogie. On the small screen, she starred in Becker with Ted Danson and Almost Perfect for CBS, and in the television movies My Last Love and Fallen Angels.
