Enjoy the best parmesan and balsamic vinegar in the world, together. This vertical pairing highlights opposing flavors while contrasting textures in a remarkable way. In this package, you will find four kinds of Grand Cru parmesan cheese of varied ages paired with a bottle of 50-year-old special Reserve balsamic vinegar of the famous Giusti family.
This package includes:
The four varieties of Parmesan Millesimato Grand Cru Bertinelli are aged 15, 24, 30, and 36 months. Grand Cru Parmesan is only created by a small company called Bertinelli. It is made with milk from a mother cow within 100 days of it giving birth. This adds to the precious flavor of the cheese and creates higher value due to its rich calcium and protein content. It is rich, sweet, and velvety. As you increase your tastings through these varied ages, you will go from soft and tender to sweet and savory, and then into grainy, complex and perhaps, intense.
The Giusti family is the oldest and most renowned producer of balsamic vinegar in the world. Each bottle is finished by hand and stored in its own box with a glass pipette. This extremely limited set comes from a special series of Giusti casks that have been in production since 1700. In 1861, Guiseppe Giusti brought a 90-year-old barrel to be evaluated at a fair in Florence, where it was awarded a gold medal. It would again be awarded another gold medal at an expo in Paris in 1889. You will find a 24-carat gold label engraving on the bottle and inside a very thick, rich vinegar that smells of mulberry, juniper, chestnut, cherry and oak. All of this, adding to the complexity and excellence of the Giusti name and legacy.
Indulge in this delicate pairing of culinary craftsmanship with loved ones knowing that it was created with the utmost class and care.
* Please note that for classification, the parmesan must be aged at least 12 months. You will find that the first parmesan in the set will be labeled at 12 months, but it has truly been aged for 15 months.
