Bid on one of the most unique and exclusive experiences – a dinner for 4 at the private social club, Tiro A Segno! This includes:
Your experience will grant you access into the place New York Magazine dubbed “The Privatest Club in New York!” Despite its exclusivity, members will tell you that it feels more like an extended family than an elite cult. The headquarters for Tiro A Segno is located in a special setting – three adjoining brownstones in Greenwich Village that have been seamlessly combined to create a classic look and feel that will have you feeling immediately transported to a different world – an exclusive world where, since 1888, members have gathered to socialize, sip fine wine, dine on remarkably good Italian food and fire the occasional rifle for target practice in the beautifully manicured shooting range located on premise! Upon arrival, take a seat in the Lounge located on the first floor where you will be greeted with the cocktail of your choice.
Marvel at the architecture and the history of a location that has withstood The Depression and two World Wars. When you’re ready, make your way to the opulent dining room where you will take a deep breath and begin to make your way through the robust and authentic Italian cuisine prepared for you by Chef Gianni who may just come by and greet you.
Order your group a lovely bottle of wine – this experience doesn’t limit you to the house wine as you can order from one of many varietals of red and white wines.* And then prepare yourself for a meal constructed in the traditional Italian sense, meaning it includes: Aperitivo - Antipasti - Primi - Secondi - Contorni - Formaggi e Fruta - Dolce - Caffe - Digestivo,
In between any of these courses, feel free to take a break and visit one of the other accessible levels of the club such as the wood-paneled and leather-appointed banquets of the rifle range. Safety comes first as the range is staffed and controlled by licensed range-safety officers. You will be shown how to safely fire a rifle at the paper target of your choosing. If that isn’t for you, make your way to the fourth floor where you can visit one of the other bars for a cocktail, have a seat on the comfortable sofa and watch TV or play some pool. The staff will be sure to space the courses at your discretion and ensure that your experience is a truly special and memorable one. Tiro A Segno is the oldest club of Italian heritage in the United States. The tradition of sporting clubs dates back to the eighth century in Ravenna, Italy, when those local groups organized tournaments throughout the country. Because Giuseppe Garibaldi played such an active role in Tiro A Segno in Italy, he was instrumental in forming the original Tiro A Segno Nazionale Italiano during his stay in New York in 1888. The club began with twenty-three Italian sportsmen -- many of them immigrants -- all of whom were highly regarded professionals, including artists, architects, doctors, writers and industrialists.
Today, Tiro A Segno of New York is approximately four hundred men and women who share both a respect for a great heritage and a love of family, friendship and sportsmanship. The clubhouse in Greenwich Village welcomes members and their guests to the beautiful dining rooms and lounges where one can always overhear Italian spoken in greetings and stories.
