Vladimir Guerrero Jr, son of nine-time All-Star and 2004 AL MVP Vladimir Guerrero, was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as a 16-year-old on July 2, 2015. In 2021, Guerrero Jr. batted a career best .311 and hit 48 home runs and 111 RBIs. In 2022, Danny Jansen set career-highs in home runs (15), RBI (44), AVG (.260), SLG (.516), and OPS (.855). The Blue Jays went 40-18 this season when he started behind the plate. He joined Vernon Wells (2010) as the only players in franchise history to begin a season with a three-game home run streak. His seven homers tied for the second most in a player’s first 16 games of a season in franchise history (1st: Carlos Delgado - 8 in 1994). He went 3-for-5 in Game 2 of the ALWC on Oct. 8 vs. Seattle, joining Pat Borders (Oct. 12, 1991 vs. MIN) as the only catchers in Blue Jays postseason history with a three-hit game.
